So many fanfics/AUs of undertale all focus on saving Asriel it's crazy, that being said... Redemption This one is easily my favorite AU, it has 80k+ words, and starts off a bit slow with many quotes used from in game characters but by chapter 3-4 things pick up. The Author still writes Epilogue chapters sometimes and the story focuses mainly on Frisk saving Asriel. (as usual) What's funny is the author of this joined the forums the other day XD Looking back on my work, I regret two things about it (though it was my first attempt at writing fanfiction). One, it was largely derivative of other themes, namely Dreemurr Reborn. Two, I didn't focus on quite as many of the more subtle themes in Undertale as I would have wanted to, in particular the mystery behind Sans. Perhaps thats why I look back at it and find that I'm not quite as satisfied or happy with it as I once was. Though maybe I'm just too harsh on myself. Granted, the one I'm working on now (also a Save Asriel story) is somewhat derivative in its own right (this time of One By One). But I'm attempting to explore more interesting themes in the process. In particular, Sans and Gaster, how Frisk could set about saving Asriel (this time hard work is the theme), another interpretation of Chara (albeit similar) and fleshing out the established characters. And I'm trying to be a bit more original in the process. I'm still a sap for cliche happy endings, though. Of course, trying to compare any work I put out to One By One is bound to end in disappointment. That one sets the bar very, very high. But I'm using it as a benchmark to try and improve my own skill as I take a second crack at the idea of saving Goatbro.

Decisions sometimes has consequences, Either be a good guy, To help people out, Everyone likes the company, Rather if your bad, Murder a few or a lot, It will come back to you some day, Not a fun experience, And why would you do all that work, Try not to kill anyone, If they have no intentions to kill you, Or if you do, No one is gonna let you pass without you having a bad time.

Found this one while surfing the web. Tales of a Dreemurr Reborn is a fanfic of Dreemurr reborn, which is more of just a bunch of small stories made in the AU than an overarching narrative. Only 1 chapter, but I found it entertaining, thought you guys might enjoy.

I'm working on one last bonus chapter for my Redemption fanfic to close it out, and then I'm going to move on to something else. In particular, I really want to take a shot at a FNaF fanfiction, first person perspective and narrated by the protagonist Mike Schmidt.

Well, I've finished the first part of the final chapter I'm working on for Redemption. It's not a rough draft, but still subject to revision. I thought I'd share what I have so far. It's going to be way longer than this, but lemme know what you guys think. {Redemption: An Undertale Story (Extra FINAL - The Future)}
"Oh yes, I've done it again."
The seemingly infinite chains of illuminating prisms bathed Asgore in a vast spectrum of colors as he stood in the snowy lawn of his front yard admiring his work, having just hung the last of the Christmas lights. Few people celebrated the holidays, and especially Christmas, with as much enthusiasm as the Dreemurrs. Literally every square inch of their yard was blanketed in festive ornamentation. The rooftops bundled in icy white, the trees wrapped in starry rainbows, and even his personal garden was carefully and beautifully adorned with silver tinsel and yuletide trinkets. An award-winning assortment of goldenrods (the staple ingredient of his homemade tea), buttercups, chrysanthemums, roses, even a star jasmine that was, by some miracle, in full bloom despite the bitter winter chill, all contributing to Asgores nine-year reign as the undisputed gardening champion of Ebott Village. The Dreemurrs were nothing if not thorough, and they celebrated their Christmas holidays like the Temmies down in Temmieville. Tis the season to be jolly, indeed.
Over nine years have passed since monsterkinds exodus from the Underground, and political relations between humans and monsters were at an all-time high. The years of diplomacy on behalf of Asgores ceaseless efforts have not only placed monsters in a favorable standing with the humans, but their mutual sharing of history and culture, of magic lost to the humans long ago and advanced technology that not even Alphys could hope to replicate, has laid solid the foundation of a bright and fruitful future for both races. Humans and monsters, standing side by side, with little remaining of the racial tension and animosity that once existed between them in ages past. By all accounts it was a miracle, and Asgore, despite his history, held his head high now, knowing that his efforts were the cornerstone that fulfilled the hopes and dreams of his people.
"Golly! You outdid yourself, Dad!"
A voice from behind, one oh so familiar but that he had not heard in a while, at least not in person. With notable excitement and an expression of glee, Asgore swiveled about to greet his unexpected guest, his age not slowing him down in the least.
There stood the precious cinnamon roll himself, Prince Dorkus of Goofsalot.
"Asriel, you're back!
Asgore had barely a seconds leeway to get the last word out before his son cannonballed into him, happy to see his dad after a long and grueling college semester, returning the gesture with a fatherly hug of his own. The once little Prince had now come full circle into adulthood, fast approaching his 19th birthday. His horns were fully developed, bending in opposite directions in a partial spiral, like a Ram. Though he still sported the same tuft of fur in between his horns, he lacked any sort of head or facial hair, much cleaner than his fathers grizzled appearance, but still his spitting image. His snowy fur had its winter thickness to fight the seasonal chill, and he was in perfect physical shape, his body lithe and toned, a product of his strenuous hours of training and exhibitions in soccer (having made captain of the team in a mere three months).
It was a dream neither he nor his parents thought would ever come to fruition, to see their son grow up, to live the life once so cruelly stolen from him. But he did. It was given back to him...to them, thanks to the combined efforts of Frisk and Chara. His hopes and dreams became a reality because of them. Now he was in pursuit of another dream, to graduate College, to become an Astrologist, student to the twinkling stars above. It had been a fantasy of his ever since he could remember, the long days he spent with Chara in the starlit caverns of Waterfall, whispering into the echo flowers, gazing at the sparkling crystals embedded in the Undergrounds surface to fritter away the hours. Unfortunately, having seen the real thing with his own eyes, that jet canvas sprinkled with shiny diamonds spanning the endless ether, the radiant sky gems of Waterfall could never even hope to match it. Yet he cherished those memories all the same. It was treasured time spent with dear Chara, after all.
Yes, he had a dream to pursue, with his parents and his two beloved siblings at his side, one with him in spirit, the other with him in the flesh. And though he was older now, he remained as big of a dork as he ever was, kind, caring, and silly at heart. And he relished any chance he had to flaunt it.
And now was a good opportunity to do just that.
"We weren't expecting you until next week."
"I know, but I already turned in my term projects so the semester wrapped up early for me. Now I have more time to spend with you all, until the next semester kicks off at least."
"Well, wonderful! Frisk has missed you so much since you left. She's gonna be so happy to see you. Toriel too."
"Let's see if I can surprise them then!"
They nodded in agreement and tiptoe'd hunchlike to the porch, looking for all the world like Harry and Marve attempting to rob 671 Lincoln Ave in that one Mccaulay Culkin film. Asgore took point, peeking his head through the front door (not an easy task with his massive arching horns getting in the way). Though they were in plain view of the windows, nobody spotted them. Toriel was nowhere to be seen, likely cleaning or doing laundry. Frisk, meanwhile, had her back to the door (painfully close to the window), hard at work decorating the christmas tree dominating the corner of the living room.
Asgore gave the all clear sign and Asriel stepped inside, forgetting to even wipe his feet on the doormat. Toriel was likely going to drill him for that in the immediate future, leaving noticeable three-toed pawprints in her new pearl carpet. Slowly he crept across the living room until he was mere inches from Frisk, who still had her back to him, a bright blue ribbon clipped on the back of her bobbed, auburn hair. She was struggling to crown the tree with its final ornament, the silent snow angel, coming just inches short even on her tiptoes. Completely oblivious to the world around her. Until...
"Howdy! Need a boost, sis?"
A gasp of surprise (and an angel falling out of her hands) was followed by a very slow and tense about-face from Frisk. Was it really...
It was.
"AZZY! YOU'RE HOME!"
Most people would probably freak out at the sight of a furry, 7 foot goat monster with horns, fangs and claws bearing down on them. Not Frisk, though. She was overwhelmed with joy and euphoria, seeing her brother again after months of being apart. The tears that rolled forth from her squinty eyes were proof positive of that, if the dopey grin didn't already give it away.
"I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!"
He didn't even have time to register her reaction before she threw herself into him, barely able to reach around his neck thanks to their difference in size. Asriel wasted no time though. Quickly he closed his own arms around her, pressed her against the wool of his emerald sweater and lifted her clean off the ground, squeezing her like a wrestler trying to force a win by submission.
"I missed you too, Frisk!"
Around and around he swung her in the open den, pirouetting on his fluffy toes, cheek against cheek, until disorientation got the better of them both. Finally he set her down, picking up the undamaged angel in the process.
"Let me get this for you."
With surprising ease, his arms cleared the tree, setting the angel upon its pointy top.
"Heh, thanks bro! Sucks being short."
"Hey, cmon, you're just fine the way you are."
"So are you. I wouldn't have you any other way."
"What's all the commotion down here!?"
Toriels voice from upstairs, peeking over the railing. Boy was she in for a surprise.
"ASRIEL! YOU CAME HOME!"
The elderly goat mom damn near tripped over herself as she charged down the stairs to embrace her son. Though she still used monikers such as 'my child' to refer to her kids, they were anything but. Frisk had grown considerably since her younger years, although at 5'6 her parents and her brother still dwarfed her easily. Nevertheless, she had developed into quite the wonderful lady from an anitomical perspective, albeit a bit on the prudish side, always favoring modesty, especially in public. She preferred jeans and long pants as opposed to dresses and skirts (but was not against it for special occasions), and aside from small things like hair ornaments and jewelry (particularly her heart locket, a very precious gift from her brother), didn't really partake in girly things like makeup or nail polish. Not necessarily a tomboy, but very down to earth. Though Asriel and Frisk would always be their children, it was only now that both Toriel and Asgore saw and appreciated their kids for what they were. The two little dorks had at long last matured into fine young adults, by all outward appearances at least.
"Hi Mom! I missed you too."
Toriel finally pulled away from her son, her long muzzle leaving a clear impression in Asriels sweater. She flashed him an awkward look, and Asriel immediately knew why.
"Chara, is she...?"
Asriel nodded, putting a hand to his chest. Faint rays of scarlet emanated between his fingers. Her.
"Still in hibernation, but you'll get to see her soon. Don't worry."
The awkward expression was replaced by a reassured smile and a nod.
"Wonderful! Everyone is here now!"
And right away she took charge.
"Goodness, this won't do at all. Asgore, prepare some tea, please. I'll bake a couple of pies."
"Yes, dear."
The setting sun cast its dying glow over the snow-sheeted houses of Ebott Village as it finally fell behind Mt Ebott in the distance. The next major storm was not to hit for a few days, so while the air outside was bitterly chilling and the snow thick, the night sky was clear and pristine. The lights were hung, the chimney was clean, the halls were decked, and Asriel was home for the holidays. A grueling sixteen week freshman semester, and now he was enjoying some well earned vacation time, home at last, with those he loved most.
Christmas was here, and the whole family was together again.

I recently remembered this thread existed, and also recently finished a draft of a little non-Overtale (but still very much Undertale) writing project I started a while back. I'm probably gonna publish it somewhere online eventually, but the crippling anxiety inspired me to submit it here first (for "peer review", I guess.) If you feel like reading 20 pages of my writing, please let me know what you think of it. Bonus points of you have something brutally and constructively negative to say! It certainly is. I din't feel there was much to gain by making my short concept-story a prologue to a 100-page "Save The Goat" fic that would probably just end up ripping off One by One anyway. I just wanted to cover a specific and rarely-explored topic that I've always found very interesting (namely, the nature of the Player viewed strictly from within the canonical Undertale universe).
