Scatterd gears, and endless wires
Restless nights, burning fires
With chips, bolts, and screws
I'll work until it comes back to use
A pop, a spring, a spark, a boom
Sounds the trumpet to your faithful doom
The power to turn back to the hands of time
Will never be in these hands of mine
Lost souls, Lost friends, lost memories
A constant in these algorithmic fantasies.
By fate am I never again to see
Just where this metal had taken thee

That was very good I wish I was that good at these things But alas, us, mere literature peasants, shall never be able to write such beautiful poetry or epic tales. We shall only wander across the lands of the interweb (and often books) and be amazed by such wordplay, but, to our disgrace, never shall we be able to reproduce such works of art, for we are nothing but lousy writers, and we shall never be "that good at these things".

Actually if you are in the undertale amino it would appear, I was spreading a poem that someone made in the amino.

If you want literature related to Undertale, I'm pretty sure I've found your guy Although having only written 3 pieces of work, CourierNew has been literally the only Undertale-related author that I enjoy - he writes with a ton of detail and atmosphere that seems totally unappreciated. I came across him on the Undertale reddit a few months back, here are his stories: Day to Day - A prequel to One by One, focusing on Asgore as he encounters the 7 humans (the final chapter is more of a sequel to One by One, but whatever) One by One - A story focusing on Frisk trying to save Asriel. Its very long. (this is probably the only story with this basic plot feature that doesn't have a really corny ending or whatever) Truant - Sequel to One by One. The Underground goes empty. Someone remains. (these are all amazing reads, please give them a try if you have the time)

So many fanfics/AUs of undertale all focus on saving Asriel it's crazy, that being said... Redemption This one is easily my favorite AU, it has 80k+ words, and starts off a bit slow with many quotes used from in game characters but by chapter 3-4 things pick up. The Author still writes Epilogue chapters sometimes and the story focuses mainly on Frisk saving Asriel. (as usual)

Back when I administrated a steam group, we had an entire thread dedicated to its discussion, and it was a pretty active thread at that. I've personally read the story four times and listened to the audio version twice. I've certainly never seen anything top it, or really even come close to matching it other than Dreemurr Reborn's "Mistake" comics. Both of those stories reduced me to manically laughing, tearful wrecks slumped onto my desktop, but One by One did it better. It's kinda supplied the majority of my headcanon for the last eight months, and if any of you folk have't read the thing yet... this is kind of the same situation you were in back when you hadn't played Undertale yet. All I can do is tell you to give it a shot, and promise you won't regret it.

If One by One was a comic it'd be my favourite Undertale fanwork of all time by far - Visual stories have more effect on me, but I guess that's just me. Regardless, the detail that all 3 of the stories put into the atmosphere, characters and plot amaze me.
