If I may inquire, is Toby a part of the team here, or is it purly fans coming together to create this game? Also, if Toby is a part of development, can we consider this a sequel to the wonderful game, "Undertale", in which Frisk takes a route through the original game and comes to the point to when s/he makes the sacrifice to save Asriel?

Nope, it is a 100% fan game., but from what we seen, those fans really know how to make a game.

Oh, I thought at some point Toby had done something to help. Didn't realize it was 100% fan based. Well, that answers my questions! Thanks!

Toby? Fuck no XD
They did commission some guy called "Radiation" for help on the soundtrack, though, and he claims to know the guy.
...
(Plz don't take this seriously)

The reason why they make this game is because Toby fox is done with his game. Undertale is a sole game within it's series. So fans decide to make sequels.

I heard that Toby Green-lit this project, maybe source is wrong? Well, yeah, he did allow the devs to work on the project without suing them, but he probably has no idea what the project even looks like these days. Most importantly, he's not on the team.

I didn't really start developing OvertaleRPG because I wanted to make a sequel - it was more like a labour of love, a homage to Toby's work. I personally see our work as a non-canon spin-off more than anything else.

Toby Is a strangely private Individual, and he seems to allow but not really support fan projects.... Maybe he has a distaste for fan games but doesn't want to just start being a dick and pulling them down. Just a thought.

Maybe he has a distaste for fan games but doesn't want to just start being a dick and pulling them down. Just a thought. Even if he has a distaste for fan games, and if he didn't cared about being a dick, and started removing them, it would be extremely hipocritical of him. After all, he made his own share of fan games.

Yeah I hope that Toby wont pull full Nintento on this I'm sure he won't. If this project keeps being 100% non-profit, he can't really remove it, (I think).
