Now, I know that this game does have computers and all, but I just wonder what time period this could take place in. Now by the looks of the Undertale game, Asriel's OvertaleRPG model, and the fact that it does give a time. My guess is that it takes place in the 2020's or the 2030's. people say the game takes place in the 2100's but keep in mind that the X in 201X is a place holder for the number and the fact that Toby Fox doesn't want the game to have any effects on the fans like FNAF did where players started calling certain places. By the way Scott Cawthon, it wasn't your fault, it was your brony counterpart's(A.k.a. your fans's fault). Anyways, back on topic, like every fiction that takes place in the real world, events will be different in this game
(Examples: Modern Warfare series was a Hollywood[No, I don't hate the game, but it's unrealistic] biased WW3 game series, Assassin's Creed is a flip plot series, monster anime series like Pokemon and Bakugan are series that has aliens from outer space working with people from both good and bad sides. Five Nights at freddy's is a creepypasta game that takes place since 1983 where the main character has to survive 6 hours a day for five to eight days which surprisingly sparked controversy about animatronics. I think you already got the point).
Now, if this were to take place in the future, the developers will have some freedom with items in the game. For example, main character gets attacked by a drone, two ways to beat it without gaining EXP. Use a drone catcher weapon or the character just keeps talking and dodging and the guy behind the controls will give up to guilt or impatience. Or what about Mettaton Ex, he can be stopped by an EMP wire without getting killed.(And he won't take damage either). Also, we could be experiencing new characters as well. They can have some good weaknesses when it comes down to completing a Pacifist route. I don't know about Lulu Bot though, they can break a fourth wall if they wanted to, probably a 5th wall as well.
