Hello everyone! I want to open up this Newsletter with a question. When you first saw Overtale, what came across your mind? What was Overtale to you? A promising fan interpretation of a sequel? A means to cover loose ends(That Pacifist Ending gets me everytime)? Or just another opportunity to spend some more time with your favourite characters without upsetting any of them with the prospect of resetting (Poor Sans!) That said, the game has come a very long way. I am humbled to be a part of this journey and I am very happy with what the team have created over the past few months. There are many lands to explore, stories to share and so much more that we cannot wait to share with all of you!
I am sure I will get alot of different answers. And personally..
I Love Overtale. I really do.
Working on it gave me joy I never experienced in a long time. And I don’t want it to end.
The fans, the community, the friendliness and morals the game itself teaches, we really cannot be any luckier to have gotten where we have if not for you guys(I know I said this countless times, but its true). I may be a dev, but I was once just like you guys, maybe even greener. I literally joined Overtale after completing Undertale itself and quite frankly, I think I have yet to prove myself worthy to wield that mantle. (Clears throat) Anyway, lets begin!
Hello Ween -
As Halloween gets closer, there’s just something festive in the air, you just feel it. Young ones(And some) prepare their costumes, while grown ups bunker down their houses, storing them full of candy to fend off and satisfy the hungry sweet-toothed horde that would follow suit, or they face the wrath of incoming toilet paper assault (If legal in your neighbourhood.) Perhaps you would be like me, just carrying on with life like nothing happened, just sitting here and typing things for the heck of it (Seriously who does that?). Others are more ambitious however, taking on the mantle of being a part of something bigger than themselves, to scare people in a snowy forest by sneaking up on them, dressed up as a skeleton with a big grin and a hoodie. Yes. Do it for the community! It’s a service for the community after all. We’re all very proud of Dan for the jump scares he gave as a skeleton in almost coincidental scenarios. How you prepare for this special occasion is up to you, and that said, all of us at the Overtale Dev Team would like to wish you all a safe and happy hall-zzTzz- hallo-
