Today we bid farewell to a friend, introduce a newcomer with a familiar face and share about a new creation. Lets dive right into it!
I Don’t Want To Let Go -
As a developer, he witnessed Overtale’s creation from the earliest days of Gamejolt, he observed the community growing throughout the months and eagerly anticipated the next chapter of what’s to come for this ongoing process in developing a spin-off to a cult hit indie game. Not too long ago, as friends, we go on our separate ways. Magzy was a pretty chill fella to hang around with and it was fun to be in his company. We as the Overtale Dev Team wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors wherever he may go, in everything he may sought out to do and beyond. Stay Determined out there!
We’ve been wandering about for awhile now -
Throughout the past few months, we’ve been teasing you with music, concept art and small glimpses of our game (And we shall continue to do so for the months ahead). We’ve had some turbulence along the way, but make no mistake, work is still being made and we’re very happy with what's done so far. As fans of Undertale ourselves, your continued support is immeasurable, we cannot thank you all enough. The journey will be long. It may be excruciatingly long. We hope you stay determined and join us every step of the way!
New Blood -
Speaking of fans, as some of you may or may not have known, we have a couple of new additions to the team! Today I have one of whom frequented the comments section. Most of you know him as the guy with the Doge picture.
Welcome to the newsletter Mojo!
Hello I am Evan Reeves, but some of you may know me as MojoMaker, or that random doge in the corner. I am the bear’s assistant for Overtale. I spend most of my days writing NPCs, random ideas, jokes, you name it. I am also a programmer. My job right now is camera work, I need to program how the camera will act around different areas, and give the player the ability to see the game at the right angles.

Not too bad a job title! You were a massive Overtale fan before you joined not too long ago. What was your favourite part of Overtale that held your interest for so long?
I’ve beaten Undertale back in April. I kind of went a little crazy for most folks as I tried to explain to people the importance of a little flower, a goat, and a skeleton… all in one sentence. I was looking at Undertale fan games when I came across Overtale. I started off by posting random “funny” comments, I always made sure to check Gamejolt at least twice a day answering any question asked. But most of all the thing that kept me coming back was the amazing community surrounding this game. It felt like everybody was accepted, I have made many friends in the Overtale community. That is why I was a massive fan. I showed up for a game, and stayed for an amazing community.
I must say, the community was part of what got me into Undertale as well and our community right here is just as amazing for sure. Right now you have read the entirety of Overtale’s script and even worked on the story a tad. Without spoiling much, in a few words or less, sum up what you or fans of the game can expect from the game?
Our team has created in my opinion a perfect balance between original ideas, characters, concepts, themes and jokes. While keeping the elements that made Undertale so special in the first place. But I cannot say anymore… he's watching me.
A wise choice of words! Speaking of choice…. Birb or Bear?
Birb uhh no uh crap. The bear isn’t here right. I meant bear I swear… Please don’t hurt me. I promise I will buy you honey!
Don’t worry, I won’t take that personally....Maybe. (*v*) One last thing, what is it like working under the guidance of the Bear? When he is not absorbing your computer, what difficulties were there in the learning process if any?
Difficulty? Nope. He is a very fair boss. I joined the development team three weeks ago, and haven't slept a day since. Don’t tell him I am here… If he found out I took a break he would… Working under the bear is a fun and rewarding experience. He pays very well! $100 dollars an hour! Except all that money goes towards his honey addiction. Eh it’s fine i'll do it for free. I don’t have a family to take care of... The bear made sure of that.
Well, that’s...great to hear! There are many interesting people on our team, that's for sure. Perhaps some day we can get to know them all!

Everyday, we’re constantly cooking something up behind the scenes. As an international dev team, I like to think of us all working in a reality that exceed beyond space and time. Hovering around this virtual realm that is the Overtale Dev Team Office, you would find new plot developments, ambitious writing, silly pun discussions, programmers programming and plentiful memes. Some things are new, some things are familiar. Today, I would like to introduce you to one of those new things.
In our upcoming closed Alpha Test (Which we’ve been talking about for quite some time), there will be enemy encounters.(Yes) One of these encounters is with an entirely new and original creation fresh from the Dev Team cookhouse. Join me and feast your eyes upon the world premiere of: The Susheep!!!
