I guess it wouldnt be so bad if it were optional, that could make for a fun re-play in the future

I'd really only go for Genocide if there was a boss just as hard or harder than UT Sans. Otherwise, I wouldn't have the mental fortitude.

I'd go pacifist... only because I want the story before I get the challenge in the genocide run.

Another reason why I'm doing nuetral/pacifist first is because of the likely high difficulty of genocide, whereas pacifist will probably be easy, meaning if you did genocide first you probably wouldn't find any other routes as interesting combat-wise, it's nice to have a difficulty curve

I'm probably just going to watch someone do genocide and then get called out for it via the fourth wall...

Although I agree that the only semi-hard boss is Asgore in the pacifist route, I'm sure we'll see some challenging bosses in Overtale. That's one good thing about fan games, they can get away with being harder than the official releases. Which is good because I am a huge fan of hard bosses in RPGs. While we strive to make the enemies a challenge in Overtale, we still want players to be able to finish the game! on topic though, I am a Pacifist player!

Good to know that they won't be extremely hard but still pose a threat ^^
But, back on topic, I'm not sure how many endings I'm actually going to be able to finish...
I'll probably get the true pacifist equivalent, but how much more of the other 6 (?) would I be able to get...
I guess only time will tell :^)

(If hard mode is a thing, all I have to say is bring it on.)

I'm still wondering on what the endings will be in terms of routes - Will 5 be neutral and 1 for both Pacifist and Genocide or will choices made in game affect what ending you get, having there be, say 2-3 different types of Pacifist and Genocide runs?

Yeah, I do carry the worry that neutral endings will seem more bait and switch rather than actual endings. I hope each neutral ending is unique and leaves you maybe a bit hollow. I have heard a lot of people go through the game (Undertale) in a neutral run. And say out loud to themselves "Is that it?! Could I have done something?" obviously It won't be the same since that sort of thing was established by the original. I just hope the devs can approach it from a different, but equally powerful perspective.

The way Undertale did it, Pacifist, Genocide, and Neutral had one ending each. What set Neutral apart was that it would do checks for different kills, then play different narration for every possible combination. Programming-wise, there wasn't any separate endings for Netural. Narrative-wise, it allowed for a bajillion and a half different specific endings with different ramifications. If I were to guess, I'd say Overtale would do much the same thing - maybe with some custom cutscene that changes with the different conditions instead of just narration by Sans.

There will be a 3 route system with 1 pacifist ending 4 neutral endings and 3 genocide endings. There will be someone who would most likely act as flowey, possibly Chara(Thats just how i'm gonna say his/her name) but the rest, i'm just not gonna go into detail eventhough the genocide route is self explanitory if you think about it.
