For me it started with me watching Jacksepticeye's let's play of Undertale. After seeing part of it I knew this was a game I had to play myself. I played through the true pacifist ending and after my encounter with Asriel I fell into a short depression for a couple weeks. It ended when I said to myself(rather foolishly in retrospect) "I will not let Asriel's story end like this, I will find a way to save him". I joined a steam group called Undertalers and hung out there. I formulated a theory that in my mind could give Asriel hope. Shortly after Treethree invited me to a steam group called Asriel Addicts Anonymous. Following that I read the fan fiction one by one which helped me through a lot of the remaining sadness and strengthen my resolve to save him. I had started looking around on game jolt at that time and found a fan game called Undertale: A second chance. In it the player would have saved Asriel but unfortunately the game was canceled. But in one of the announcement posts the dev of that game made he mentioned Overtale. Following some investigation I discovered what Overtale was and told many of my friends, some of which are members on this forum now. I'm my investigation I found that Overtale will use our Undertale save files in it in some way, this added to my feelings of validation that by playing this game I will be saving Asriel and bringing him to the surface as I will be using the save data from my timeline(game) in it. I look forward to Overtale to both give me hope to finally save Asriel and also to have fun on one last adventure in the Undertale universe, the game looks ambitious and is so far proving it can back up that ambition to eventually deliver a quality product.
